Take Muni Metro often? You may recall that for the last few years, Muni has run both their new Siemens S200 Light Rail vehicles (LRV4) and their Legacy Breda (LRV 2/3) vehicles. The legacy gray and red vehicles have met their demise and will finally be put to rest two years early, as the LRV4s have demonstrated improved reliability over the previous fleet.
Manufactured from 1995 to 2002, these vehicles have been the iconic mode of choice for many San Franciscans.
These vehicles were most notably plauged by heavy doors, breaking the foundations of nearby homes and being overweight.
Introduced in the late 2010s, these German light rail vehicles have proven themselves worthy of San Francisco's difficult operating terrain.
Lighter doors, hydraulic doors and hydraulic movable stairways means less failures overall for the system.
Many enjoy the increased standing room, especially on lines such as the N Judah, which experiences the most overcrowding out of all Muni Metro lines.
If you were fond of these vehicles... don't fret! LRV 1534 will be put on display at the Western Railway museum in Solano county. One final run of the Breda Vehicles will be offered on Wednesday Nov 5th until 9pm on the J Church line. Checkout SFMTA.com for more details!

Copy of Teacher Email:
Hello Participating Teachers,
Receiving this email indicates you and your 4th period class are participating in the Golden Sneaker Contest, a collaboration between SFMTA and the Golden State Warriors! The goal is to generate the highest number of walking/wheelchair/roll trips to school within San Francisco, the top school with the highest percentage of participating students receives honor from the Golden State Warriors and a physical prize for display. Lincoln has a very strong chance to win! We are the only public school actively collecting data as a whole (Thanks to staff like you all!).
Instructions:
Record students’ travel type, there are 4 columns that correspond to a different mode. Walking, Rolling, Bus/Transit, Car
The rows indicate different dates and can be found in the ROLL category.
Please write down your last name registered with the district as well as your 4th period class size. View digital examples here.
I realize the instructions can be very confusing, if you are still confused please skim this video.
As this is my last year at Lincoln, this is one of my last ways to leave a small mark here and hopefully inspire others to take initiatives large or small and make our school an engaging space for all.
I sincerely apologize for the late notice regarding this request and am especially grateful for your support, this notice should have been carried out the week prior. Unfortunately I had come down with an illness, which hammered my ability to fulfill all my tasks last week. In light of the delay and abrupt notice, I don’t expect participation if found not feasible. I appreciate everyone who took the time to speak with me! Feel free to reach out with questions.
